NORDS TRÄDGÅRD

STORY

Nords Trädgård is a place where vegetables, yoga, food and fika creates a healthy whole. We are passionate about eating healthy food. Food that we know where it originates and how it was produced. This has led to that we today grow most of the vegetables we eat from april to december. Maybe you've seen us out in the field at Stationsvägen 13 if you've passed by?

It's a great joy to share the things we've grown, baked and created here in the garden for all you who visit us.

It has become part of our lifestyle to plant the first seeds for the coming year already before the new year. The first leafy greens we eat in our home are ready by the end of february and then we seed and harvest during a long season to then pick the last winter greens by the end of november together with collecting the seeds for the next season.

Warm Welcomes!

About the garden

All our growing is done without artificial fertilizers and chemical pesticides. Our growth beds are covered with compost from the farm every autumn as well as being fertilized with cow manure from farms with ecological treatment of their cattle. We also mix in wood chips to maintain the moisture in the soil. We of course like everyone else who grow vegeables have to deal with animals and insects who want to eat our food. We try to keep our growth beds free from weeds and decaying leaves to not attract snails. Earth fleas we try to combat with wood ash, ants with orange oil, birds with net coverings, cabbage larva with canvases and becillus thurungesis (a soil bacteria) and deer with wool on sticks.

Nords Trädgård invests in its operations to diversify and make it available during larger parts of the year. The investment includes the building of a yard store (completed), living space for guests to rent and available space year around for guests. The goal with these investments are to provide a larger offer of local produce, services and experiences in a sustainable way. The investment also has the goal of creating work opportunities at Nord Trädgård.

Part of the investment has gotten support from the Agricultural Board and the European Agricultural Fund for Land Development..
